So excited to share that I was nominated Best Actress, for the short film A La Deriva, by Fany de la Chica -- at the IV Concurso de Cortometrajes Rodando por Jaen, Spain.

A La Deriva -- is the first project I had the opportunity to do in Spain, since living in the USA, almost five years ago.  We shot the film last June, 2016, in Jaen, down south Spain.

The short has also been the winner of Mejor Corto Provincial, which had filmmaker Monxto Armendariz as head of the Jury, along with Gracia Querejeta, producer Puy Oria and actresses, Cristina Plazas and Eva Isanta.

Surprise Film Release on July 22nd & July 29th! by Carmen Cabrera

Lana --  in the science indie, Digital Physics.

Digital Physics, a feature film written & directed by Jonathan Khanlian -- was released on July 22nd, on Vimeo On Demand as a surprise film release!  It's estimated release on iTunes & Amazon is July 29th!

Set in a hostel in the 1980s, 'Digital Physics' follows Khatchig, a man searching for truth in mathematics, physics, logic, and life. As Khatchig monopolizes the sole computer in the hostel to make sense of a counter-intuitive result, he has an epiphany: We may be living in a computer simulation.

Khatchig sets out to find the program that will be the code for our universe and the Nobel laureate that will vindicate his work.  As his theories take him deeper into a questionable mental state, Khatchig must deal with the derision from those around him, unrequited love, and his own self-destructive nature.

The concepts explored in 'Digital Physics' are based on the works of Gottfried Leibniz, Alan Turing, Stephen Wolfram, Gregory Chaitin, Albert Einstein, Ed Fredkin, Kurt Gödel and many other mathematicians, physicists, computer scientists, and philosophers.

For anyone who loves the 80's, mathematics, travel, synth-music and nostalgia:

Memoria de Octavia @ The Catalina Film Festival, CA 9/24 by Carmen Cabrera

Memoria de Octavia is my second collaboration with filmmaker, Marly Hernandez.  The short received a Silver Palm Award at the Mexico International Film Festival, and it's been accepted at the 2015 Rincon International Film Festival  &  The Catalina Film Festival 2015.

Sponsored by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Memoria de Octavia, tells the story of a neuroscientist, Octavia, who came to the United States from Mexico under asylum as a child. Using herself as a test subject, she struggles to erase memories of her past. Inspired by the scientific works of neuroscientist Karim Nader and neuroscientist Joseph Ledoux, the film's theme centers on the unreliable and intangible nature of memory. The safest memories are the ones that you don't think about.

Screening at The Catalina Film Festival, CA, 2015:
